You know those awkward conversations you have with strangers? Things you talk to cashiers about, things you talk to someone else in the store about? Do you ever just get caught talking to total strangers? It somehow is ALWAYS happening to me. I am someone who loves to keep to myself, especially in public. Here are some of the classic Christmas questions I have been asked over the years, mostly by complete strangers.
What’s your favorite Christmas movie? Classically, A Christmas Story. I can watch that countless times around the holidays and it never gets old. Newly, The Princess Switch. I recently saw it on Netflix, it’s super adorable!
What’s your favorite Christmas song? All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey. It’s so upbeat and makes me want to dance my heart out, but I’m a boring person so I just dance in my head.
Is your tree real or fake? Fake. Fake trees are too easy. I do love visiting Christmas tree farms, though. There is so much beauty in real trees!
Do you open any Christmas presents on Christmas Eve? No! But I may start once my daughter is a little older.
Do you ever have a white Christmas? I live in the Bay Area of California, so no. But while I was still married, we traveled to my grandma-in-laws in New England and had a white Christmas!
Favorite Christmas moment? In 2016, we announced my pregnancy with a Christmas theme!
What’s your favorite Christmas food? Spatzle! It’s not exactly a Christmas food, but a delicious German noodle we have every year on every holiday!
What is on your Christmas bucket list? I’d LOVE to go see the Christmas markets in Europe. My family has gone to some in Germany and Austria and it seems like something I’d totally be into. I’ve been to some local German Christmas markets and they’re a lot of fun, too. I’d love to see the real real.
The “truth” about Santa? I honestly don’t remember how old I was when I found out the truth, and I don’t remember how I found out. BUT when I was about 14 and my older brothers were 15 & 18, we were scrounging the house for Santa gifts and my mom was SO MAD that she told us he died. LOL, true story. My mother REALLY told us that. But when we tell the story around her, we like to tell people we were 4, 5, and 8. Sorry mom. 😂
Do you like to give or receive gifts? I LOVE to give. I love shopping for others. I hate to receive. I’m fairly picky so getting gifts can be hard.
